Good Things Come To Those Who Wait :)

About eight months after it struck me in my head and heart AGAIN, and tired of fighting and fending off the feelings that were obviously there, it finally happened. Friday the 13th will be the day to remember. When I experienced happiness, awe, shock, love, craziness. It's very strange that some people say that there is such a thing as a honeymoon period, and perhaps some might say it is a little premature to say this, but nine months on, life still seems to be majorly dreamy and happy. My heart still beats that much faster in his presence and I still have the same crush on him that I did when I first met him :) Okay, save the mushy stuff. I sound like some 15 year old who is majorly infatuated with some boy :p Only that I'm 22.

So anyway, Friday the 13th is the day that is supposedly ominous and not exactly great for doing auspicious things, but not for evil people like me! *does evil laugh impersonation* :) In fact it was a beautiful sunny day that warranted a big smile and getting up uber early for an excursion to Universal Studios ala Final Destination style! :)

We were supposed to meet at 9.30am at Harbourfront MRT but as usual, I was late (yes, I am taking responsibility for my actions) and in the end, I only got to meet Smelly at 9.40am. Of course, he didn't let me off easily since I was supposed to be punctual because I had a beautiful watch that he gave me as a post-Aussie holiday/birthday present! :) Hehe. We then caught the bus into Sentosa (RWS8) from outside Vivocity, which is really very convenient. We managed to snag a seat on the bus and Smelly proceeded to tell me about the odds of playing Big/Small and was doing serious calculations with percentages and all, in preparation for our little Casino stint that we were going to fit into our itinerary because of our previous good luck-ish episode at the game in Genting. (No, you do not have permission to call the problem gambling hotline now. hmph)

On The Bus to Resorts World!

It was a rather surreal feeling actually getting to go to Resorts World and Universal Studios because I've been meaning to go there for SUCH a long time, but always had to put plans aside because of work or school! Going to Universal Studios also meant another shot at happy kiddy times that I last experienced when I went to Disneyland in Tokyo! The best part was that I got to go with Smelly, because he's great company and we're both very game about taking crazy pictures and doing crazy things! :)

Hurray for Universal Studios! :)
Our Tickets to Happyland! :)

Getting down from the bus, we proceeded to a secret place where we put our bags down and oohed and aahed at the sheer beauty surrounding us :) It was so pretty, comfortable and such a lovely place! :) Thank you for the treat and the surprise dear :) It was a truly wonderful experience :) I hope that we will certainly make my way back there in the future! :) Then, we headed over to our destination of the day while eating a breakfast of Purple Tapioca Chips from our trip to Bintan, Water and Wang Wang Biscuits, yummm! :) Junk food love is forever! :)

On the way to Universal, we walked through beautiful passageways and pop-art art pieces featured in Opera Gallery, one of my favourite haunts that is also located in the Takashimaya building. When I get insanely madly rich one day, I shall commission a piece of sculpture! :) Or if I don't, I'll make something that remotely resembles the sculptures! :p After more oohing and ahhing, we reached our final destination!!! :) Crazy happy!!! :) Here on, I'll let the pictures do the talking!!! :))

That is a WHOLE load of pictures omg. Hope you enjoyed them and our very normal poses. lol. Anyway, you don't see any pictures of me puking here because HAHA, I didn't. At all! Even on the spinning teacups! :) What a good Joyce you are, Joyce! :) Anyway, in case you were wondering, the queues were long, but it was fun and I think that the best part about amusement parks are the bits when you can chat with your friends and laugh and gossip about the day's events, ooh and ahh at cute kids, take "sian" face pictures, laugh and gossip more about the expression on people's faces as they prepare for the ride, laugh and gossip EVEN more about couple clothes, family clothes, etc., Sooo the next time you complain about the queues, think alternatively about the fact that without queues, all the fun little memorable snippets wouldn't happen! :)

An Entire Family Clad in Purple!!! :) Super Cute!

spending some time with a yawning game! lol

Well, I'm proud to say that we finished all the rides and viewing all the attractions save the last one that we couldn't find, and also bought a potion bottle filled with our mixed up drink of Sprite and Ice lemon Tea as a souvenir! :) I was really over-the-moon because I'm such a sucker for overpriced paraphernalia that looks cute, interesting or bears the name of the place that I've visited! :D We went into the Universal Store to check out more overpriced paraphernalia and decided that we could save the money for better things so we took sneak pictures of us "wearing" the Universal tees and caps and hugging Universal tee-clad bears! :)

Potionnn! :D
HOLLYWOOD
i likey that fluffy white bear :)

Touristy Shot of The Universal Globe :)

After taking the last few pictures and bidding Universal goodbye, we went into this giganormous Hershey chocolate shop, drawn by the crazy amounts of chocolate lining the walls. We were greeted by a door lady who gave us a Hershey Kiss and was pleasantly surprised when she did so! :) The shop smelt of chocolate and we spied a Hershey mascot who got away before we had a chance to take a picture with him! It's really innovative what these marketing people can get up to! Hershey coin banks, Reese's Buttercup cushions, Giant Hershey bars... Nice! :) I love creativity and expression ESPECIALLY when it's got to do with food yumsies! :) And then, we entered the heavenly realm of popcorn madness. Looking wide eyed at all the popcorn, I quite fancied the caramel flavoured ones, considering I love caramel, but was sorely disappointed that there was no Salty popcorn! Come on Salty popcorn lovers!!! We need to rally around our cause! :p We left the shop without any popcorn though either because A. Smelly tricked me by telling me that we would come back the next day to buy some (Didn't happen) or B. I was too hungry and tired to think about eating popcorn. :3 Hahaha

HUGE Hershey's Bar! :)
Melts in Your Mouth...
If You Can Even Fit The Whole Bar In! ;)

Plants VS. Zombies - Nice Flower

Plants Vs. Zombies - Nasty Flower (Better to Kill Zombies!)

We went back to our secret place to bathe and change for dinner while resting up a teeny bit after the day's activities. It felt good to actually be able to lie down and have a few moments of shut-eye! :) Very refreshing it was! Minutes later, we were up and about Energiser Bunny style and went for dinner. BUT of course, before that, we made a stopover the Casino. So here's the deal. I'm Singaporean and Smelly is Malaysian. That means that I have to pay a whopping $100 to get into the Casino and Smelly doesn't. So we gambled Messenger/Bookie style. Lol. I got to decide the amount ($20), which table (3rd from the Right) and big/small (Small)! :) Smelly wanted to put $50 at first, but it's such a high risk and when gambling, it is never good to be greedy. It is only okay to be greedy for hugs and kisses. Lol :p I waited in eager anticipation (no that's not actually true) outside while he went in all cool gambler swagger and all to place our bet. Super hardcore right, oh dear ;) About 20 minutes later, he came through the gantries, face masking all emotion, very nonchalant, high roller gambler style... and flashed $40 in my face! :) Yay!!! We won $20! :)) That's a great discount for dinner! :p Smelly kept telling me that it was my lucky day and kept grinning at me. Haha, something was soooo up ;) More on how suspicious he was in just a bit :)

To The Casino and Beyond!!!
Happy About Our Earnings at the Casino! :)

After walking around searching for a restaurant to eat at and watching a short musical fountain showcase at the Lake of Dreams, we finally settled on a Japanese store called RamenPlay :) What really attracted me to the place was the great attention to detail in the decor on the store's signage that looked like a blend of Indonesian Wayang Kulit Cutouts and Lino Print. It serves as a nice piece of inspiration for my boomerang! :) So we went in and got a cosy little corner table for two :) It was then that Smelly told me to take out "Conversations - First Word", a photo album that he lovingly compiled of all our memories together :) Yup, the day before our Universal excursion, Smelly told me to bring along the album book present because he had a story to tell me and I was like, "Okay" because I was too excited and keeping quiet and pretending to be nonchalant was the only way to hide my bubbling craziness that was madly erupting inside of me *crazy eyes*. So I brought the album along and just before we left our secret place, Smelly told me to bring the album along to dinner! :D *more crazy eyes* Of course, wanting to build the anticipation and also because I was hungry, I insisted on ordering and eating first. Lol :p

yayyy! :) i finished everything! :)

Anyway, just in case you haven't heard me go on and on about it, this is a Brief History of "Conversations - First Word": It was my birthday present from Smelly that was presented to me by my friends while eating dinner at Nando's in JB because Smelly was in Langkawi for a company holiday. Kaikai and Smelly had an elaborate plan to pass it to me, which I thoroughly enjoyed because I knew something was up and the package was for me and I kept asking Kaikai about to make her feel uncomfortable, lol. So anyway, I first read it when I sat in the train on the way back with Ethan and Sukyee and have been reading it every other night because it is simply beautiful and touching :) OKAY SO, after reading the book many a time, I realised that there was a story running on the left side of the album! :) Then, since the title of the album was "Conversation - First Word"... I was happy because I thought that there would be a second album called, "Conversation - Two Words" and then later partly amused because I did a Ted and was critical about how it was supposed to be spelled "First Words" instead of "First Word" and was wondering why Smelly's English had deteriorated. LOL. And then I realised, that maybe there was a secret message... so I read the first words of every page on the right side only, which didn't make sense. Somehow I didn't think of reading the left side, for various obscure reasons. Now really, it is no wonder they say that advertisements are always placed on the right side because the human eye tends to concentrate there!!! And then, when I turned to the last page, which was a letter, I thought it felt poofy! So I asked Smelly if there was something underneath. AND HE SAID NO. So I was like, Okay! And left it at that, because the letter was taped to the book and I didn't want to tear it!

Me with The Album!!! :)
(I'm not going to post closeup pictures of the book or its pages here because I'm selfish like that! :p lol)

SO imagine my complete utter shock and "what the floofs" and "oh my gosh-es" when he told me to look at the book even closer in the restaurant, and gave me a hint after I couldn't get what was up and what the "story" was after flipping through the book twice. WHAT HAPPENED was that he had concealed the message IN the first word of every " " apostrophe'd super sweet phrases on the LEFT side of the book, which asked me to be his ahem *hehe, don't want to say la, shy* ... :) AND THEN, he turned to the last page where the letter was, opened the tape, and revealed... ANOTHER letter. I knew there was something behind it! Lol. I knew it I knew it :p Okay, I can't really remember anything after I read the letter other than that I was laughing and crying and not responding to his "so yes or no?" questions. Hahaha. All this when I was actually the silly one! :) I mean, it's no wonder he kept asking me at random times, "yes or no?"!!! Lol. I didn't manage to give him an answer straight away... but I'm sure you can guess what my answer was! :) Especially since this answer was met with our first **** :) and also considering that this is the same person that I've been love-whining to everyone about for the past 1.5 years. Lol. But anyway, I also wanted to tell him later because I pre-empted this (*smug face*, lol) and prepared a little present that I wanted to give to him that held the answer!!! :) But cannot la, too eager, so I gave it to him later :) Hehe, anyway here are a few snapshots of my devastated face! lol :)

i thought that he told me to bring the book, because
he was going to slot something inside to "ask me"!
argh! apparently my guess was wrong!!!
smelly was more ingenious, thoughtful and sweet! :)
cry baby :))
the hidden letter/message that was with me all along :)
our first official picture together :))

After that, I couldn't stop giggling and laughing and crying and stopping momentarily to give spontaneous hugs to smelly while we were walking along back to our secret place :) hehe, after that we ended the day before heading back to our secret place with a lift ride in a beautiful Swarovski-fied lift! :)

Lol, ignore the faces! Concentrate on the crystals!!! :))
the pretty pop art pieces :)

The next day, after drinking a lovingly prepared yummy chinchin made milo-in-a-potionbottle breakfast drink, we headed back home, using the lovely Sentosa monorail! :) But of course, not before we made our way through the very cinematic underpass again! :)

through the underpass we go!
on the monorail :)
eating or drinking is not allowed... *guilty face* :)

Well... it's been exactly a month since that wonderful day :) and here, I just want to thank you, my dearest official (*heehe*) boyfriend for loving me :) , for making me laugh :) , for bickering with me over silly things :) , for taking all my nonsense :) , for being a bit nonsensical :) , for giving in to me during that time of the month, hahaha :) , for our super fun adventures :) and for just being you, my wildest dream come true :)

:)

:) If there was ever a day I could live all over again, it would be the day I stepped into the dance studio at Nanyang House for my first DSA lesson :) Because that day, was the day I first met you :) But then again, even if i had met you at another time, in another place, i would have still fallen for you :p hehe :)

Happy First Month Smelly... I love you, loved you and will always love you :)

to my partner, my best friend and my boyfriend :)
